Muslim groups back RSS leader Indresh

Several Muslim leaders and organisations have come out in support of senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar.

Claiming that Indresh had been championing the cause of Hindu-Muslim unity, president of Mirza Ghalib Society Shamshad Ali Shaad said, “A person like Indresh Kumar can never be involved in a terrorist attack on a Muslim shrine”.

Two other well-known Urdu poets, Abdul Gaffar and Mirza Habib, expressed similar views. They said Indresh Kumar was the “guiding spirit” in the formation of organisations like Rashtravadi Muslim Manch and My Hindustan, which are engaged in removing misconceptions about RSS within the Muslim community.

They said that the ATS sleuths were trying to implicate Indresh Kumar without having convincing proof against him. “The case against Indresh Kumar will fall flat during trial,” they commented.

Salawat Khan, chairman of the State Waqf Board said the efforts by the ATS to implicate Indresh Kumar would collapse in course of time.
