Uttarakhand Calamity: RSS, VHP working relentlessly in rescue and relief operations

Dehradun, June 22: In the worst ever natural calamity that struck Uttarakhand, Char Dhaam Yaatra area, Rudra Prayag, Gupt Prayag, Uttar Kashi and surrounding areas,as rescue and relief operations are on in full swing, thousands of people have been washed away, the people on ground Zero are witnessing Khaki half pant wearing men comforting those who are in panic, helping those who are in distress and carrying out who are dead.
 

While complete government machinery has collapsed, the only hope being the Army, the RSS, Baba Ramdev and local volunteers for the hapless people. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has initiated a new forum, ‘Uttaranchal Daivee Aapada Peedith Sahayata Samiti’ and called for nationwide help for the thousands of devotees, other local civilians stranded at parts of Uttarakhand due to unprecedented flood.

 

While the Centre and State government has left the hapless at mercy of God, the Swayamsevaks of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh are relentlessly working from the next moment the worst ever calamity happened in Uttarakhand and nearing areas.

The RSS swayamsevaks are assisting the army operations in many areas. Indian Army immediately plunged into the rescue operations braving the most adverse climatic conditions and providing relief work. RSS Swayamsevaks, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other organisations too joined hands with Army in rescue operations and started providing quick relief works at Uttarakhand. VHP’s Hindu Help Line is actively working helping thousands of people. The Relief camps run by RSS swayamsevaks have became a place of solace for the thousands in anguish.

RSS Uttaranchal Prant Karyavaha Lakshmi Prasad Jaiswal told that the RSS is continually sending relief material with groups of Swayamsevaks to the affected areas. In Rishikesh, 171 people were given night shelter with medical assistance and were helped to reach their destination. Similar arrangements were done in Uttarkashi Maneri, Joshimath Chamoli and other nearing places. 

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad is also involved in massive relief work. 

Till now four trucks containing relief material like food, water, medicines, blankets were sent in Uttar Kashi, Ukhi Math, Gupt Kashi, Joshi Math and Dehradun.

 

RSS Uttaranchal state headquarters has been transformed in a all equipped Control centre which is open for 24 hours. Many small communication centres are established in Rishikesh, Shrinagar, Paudi Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Augustmuni, Badrinath, Uttarkashi and nine other key places. Food, medicine and shelter is given in all such centres.

Many dead bodies are still in the vicinity of Kedarnath temple. Roads are blocked and cracked. Cloud burst, incessant rains and landslides have created big havoc. Gouri Kund is washed away. Many hotels in the area along with people in them are missing. 4,500 mules (khacchhar) serve devotees. Each mule has one attendee. None of them are found. Markets are washed out with people. The number of the dead and missing may cross thousands as Char Dhaam yaatra was on.

RSS has also appealed to the citizens of the country to be compassionate and proactive in helping the thousands of hapless devotees and fellow citizens in this most important hour of need.
